On the afternoon of April 14, the “Opening Ceremony of of China-Japan Youth Exchange Promotion Year “ jointly organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China and the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries was held in Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Foreign Minister Taro Kono of Japan jointly attended and addressed the opening ceremony of China-Japan Youth Exchange Promotion Year.
Japanese students from Beijing Language and Culture University were invited to attend the “Opening Ceremony of of China-Japan Youth Exchange Promotion Year “. At the opening ceremony, BLCU teachers and students listened carefully to the speeches of State Councilor Wang Yi and Foreign Minister Taro Kono, and had friendly exchanges with Japanese students and teachers from Tsinghua University, Peking University, Beijing Foreign Studies University and other universities. The students gained a lot and expressed their deep approval for the establishment of China-Japan Youth Exchange Promotion Year. They will earnestly promote the positive and friendly development of Sino-Japanese relations.
The China-Japan Youth Exchange Promotion Year is a concrete achievement in improving Sino-Japanese relations. In 2018, China and Japan set 2019 as the Year of China-Japan Youth Exchange Promotion and decided to arrange exchange visits of 30,000 youth in the next five years.
