II. Course Introduction
There are 6 types of preparatory courses: Basic Chinese course, professional Chinese course, HSK examination-oriented course, general education course, language practice and cultural experience course, extended course. In accordance with the entry Chinese level of the project students, the course is mainly at the primary level.
(I) Elementary Chinese Course
It includes basic preparatory Chinese comprehensive course, listening class, oral language class, reading and writing class, Chinese sound correction, Chinese character foundation, vocabulary outline and grammar outline.
1. Preparatory Chinese Preliminary Synthesis
This course is the core course of preparatory elementary Chinese. Learners comprehensively learn elementary language knowledge such as phonetics, Chinese characters, vocabulary and grammar, receive language skills training such as listening, speaking, reading and writing, understand and apply 1600 general vocabulary of preparatory courses, 115 grammar items, and have comprehensive language application ability, cross-cultural communication ability and self-learning ability.
2. Preparatory elementary Chinese listening
This course is a skills training course for preparatory elementary Chinese. Students listen to a large number of communicative discourse in life scenes, accurately distinguish Chinese phonetics, understand the meaning of listening materials and the intention of the speaker, and have the ability of accurate understanding and quick response in listening and speaking communication.
3. Preparatory Chinese Preliminary Reading and Writing
This course is a skill training course for preparatory elementary Chinese. By means of learning and training, learners are able to read and write basic words. In the aspect of reading, learners can read and understand more obvious introductory, explanatory and narrative words in daily life, study and work, and understand the main meaning and key information; In the aspect of writing, learners are able to write paragraphs in a standardized format on basic everyday learning, work and social topics, and express them clearly.
4. Chinese Pronunciation
This course is a combination of elementary Chinese language knowledge teaching and skill training. Learners will systematically understand where and how to pronounce Chinese phonetics. Especially aiming at the difficulty of pronunciation such as tone, under the guidance of teachers, correct errors, improve phonetic characteristics, and adopt correct pronunciation skills such as stress, intonation, rhythm and so on to express emotional attitude.
5. Basics of Chinese Characters
This course is a course combining the knowledge teaching and skill training of the preparatory elementary Chinese course. Learners will understand the origin and evolution of Chinese characters, learn the basic knowledge of Chinese characters, and receive systematic training in Chinese character reading and writing. Can write 600 elementary Chinese characters correctly using writing rules. Have the basic ability of recognizing and memorizing Chinese characters and the ability of fast writing, and feel the happiness of writing Chinese characters.
(II) Professional Chinese courses
Including liberal arts specialized vocabulary, liberal arts specialized comprehensive, liberal arts specialized reading and writing, liberal arts specialized listening and speaking.
1. Chinese Synthesis for Liberal Arts Majors
This course is the core course of preparatory liberal arts Chinese majors. Learners will be exposed to Chinese literature, history, philosophy, law, economics, diplomacy, politics and other related language materials. Learn the elementary vocabulary of 800 majors and understand the basic concepts and background knowledge of related majors. Have the language ability, cultural quality and learning ability required to study undergraduate related majors.
2. Chinese Listening and Speaking for Liberal Arts Majors
This course is a Chinese skills training course for preparatory liberal arts majors. Learners will learn how to record and organize their notes in a simulated classroom of professional teaching, and present their opinions on related professional topics on the basis of the corpus, and communicate and discuss with others. Have certain communication strategies and oral expression skills.
3. Chinese Reading and Writing for Liberal Arts Majors
This course is a Chinese skills training course for preparatory liberal arts majors. Learners will read popular articles containing related professional elementary knowledge, learn basic professional knowledge and main vocabulary, understand the common expression format of Chinese written style, have the reading adaptability of professional literature and the writing ability of professional small thesis.
4. Trial Reading of Liberal Arts Major
This course is designed for preparatory liberal arts students who have reached a high level of Chinese. Learners can choose the corresponding professional elementary courses in accordance with the undergraduate major they will study in the future, and share the class with the Chinese undergraduate students, so as to feel the atmosphere and scene of college classroom learning in advance and form the adaptability and learning habit of professional learning.
5. Chinese Professional Reading for Economics and Trade
This course is the core course of Chinese for preparatory courses in economics, trade and management. Students will read a large number of economic and trade science popularization articles, understand the elementary concepts and professional knowledge of related majors, understand and master 1500 economic and trade professional vocabulary and common expression formats of economic and trade articles. Have the language ability, knowledge accomplishment and learning ability needed to study undergraduate related majors.
6. Preparatory Mathematics
This course is set up for preparatory students of science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, economy and trade and management. It is a combination of knowledge teaching and skill training of preparatory major Chinese. Learners will learn parts of Chinese high school mathematics and advanced mathematics, understand and apply mathematical vocabulary, apply mathematical formulas and definitions to solve problems. Have the language ability to understand the teaching language of college mathematics teachers and apply Chinese to discuss mathematical problems.
(III) Language Practice Courses
As an application sector of classroom teaching in the real context, language practice is the test, effective extension and beneficial supplement of classroom teaching. It is not only the embodiment of applying what has been learned, but also the platform of practice teaching. It is of great significance to the formation and improvement of language adaptability, cultural adaptability and social adaptability of project students.
In accordance with the needs of courses at all levels, this class will arrange visits, cultural and sports activities, social investigation, travel and other activities to guide students to experience China, expand their horizons and enrich their experience. In this process, we should set up good team spirit and collective concept, and improve the ability of adopting Chinese to communicate and solve practical problems.
The courses are divided into 7 categories:
(1) Language Task Series: Complete language task and task list by means of conducting investigation and interview.
(2) Cultural Experience Series: Experience culture by means of conducting cultural activities, visits, and complete the report.
(3) Social Survey Series: Understand the national conditions/society and complete the report by means of investigation, observation and visit.
(4) Local Travel & Learn Series: Visit the local and surrounding attractions.
(5) Tours in other places, Xie Lie: Namely, language practice, long-term tour and investigation.
(6) Competition Series: Organize various competitions on the theme of language knowledge, skills, culture, sports, etc.
(7) Get-together Series: Organize fellowship, get-together, graduation ceremony and related Chinese program performance.
There are four founding principles for each series of language practices:
Firstly, practical teaching is directed against the standards and requirements of the National Fund Management Committee.
Secondly, practice teaching and classroom teaching should be constructed at the same time.
Thirdly, practice teaching and follow-up undergraduate learning effectively.
Fourthly, practice teaching fully reflects the integration and exchange of Chinese and foreign students.
In order to guarantee the effectiveness of language practice and monitor the implementation of language practice activities in the whole process, our institute will compile related written materials for various language practice activities and collect them into a volume, propose clear requirements and tasks, provide detailed operation instructions and assessment approaches, and timely summarize and display the results.
(IV) Extended Courses
These courses are designed to complement the main courses, including review and weekly examination, small class training and academic development guidance.
Review and Weekly Examination
This course is an auxiliary course for the basic Chinese core course. Conduct inductive summary and review in accordance with the weekly learning content of the core course, especially the key points and difficulties. By means of conducting a large number of exercises, test the learning effect and check up the gaps.
Re-training of Small Class
This course is an auxiliary course for the basic Chinese core course. Class size less than 10 people, in accordance with the students' Chinese proficiency, learning needs, learning focus, and other dynamic classes. In accordance with the phased objectives of the core course of elementary Chinese and the key points and difficulties of the learning unit, a targeted re-training will be implemented.
Academic Development Guidance
“Academic development guidance” is a free consultation and guidance service provided by the college, which determines the academic tutor after admission and focuses on the growth and development of students in the whole process. 3 to 4 hours of one-to-one talk time (Office Hour) every week to provide consultation and assistance on life adaptation, schoolwork, mental health, future development and other aspects related to project students.
