On April 13th, the 5th anniversary of LMC (Lancang-Mekong Cooperation) and 2021 LMC Week organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was celebrated in Beijing. Wang Yi, the state councilor and foreign minister of China, attended the event and delivered a speech.
Five international students from Myanmar ,Vietnam and Thailand in our school were invited to participate in this event under the guidance of teachers from the Department of International Student Affairs. They experienced the Lancang-Mekong friendship of“Shared water, shared future”, understood the Lancang-Mekong spirit of“Development first, equal consultation, pragmatic and efficient”, and also witnessed the Lancang-Mekong speed of“Make progress day by day, yield fruits month by month and enter a new stage year by year”. In addition, according to the arrangement, the students also gave a brilliant performance named Lancang-Mekong River, a characteristic song and dance.
After the event, Hong Lei, the director of the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and alumnus of our school, also had a cordial conversation with the teachers and students who participated in the event. He first expressed his appreciation for the wonderful performance of our international students, and then shared his experience at BLCU, encouraging students to study hard, actively carrying forward the Lancang-Mekong culture of "Equally treat and sincerely help each other like a family", and trying to make more contributions to the cooperation among the six countries.
